Slimming down for its 89mm predecessor, the new 88 becomes a more versatile all-mountain ski built to perform more consistently across mixed terrain while still holding strong on groomers. Certainly not as carving orienting and piste focused as the previous generation, this new construction and profile allows for far more versatility and caters to a wider range of skiers. The wood core in combination with specifically placed titinal gives this ski surprisingly good edge grip while letting the ski flex in a free ride nature. This rendition also sees the addition of K2’s Dark Matter technology which is designed to give the ski a damper on snow feel. If you’re an advance intermediate or consider yourself a bit more practiced, this ski will suit you well. So feel free to carve or shmear on this mindbender without hesitation.
