The ever popular Elan Ripstick 96 Black Edition stays the same structurally for the 26/27 season. This ski is basically the Ripstick 96 with additional carbon rods. What does that mean? It’s a beefier, most stable and damp version of the regular Ripstick. While the Black Edition is still fairly light and nimble for this category because of the use of carbon instead of metal, it definitely packs a stronger punch than the regular Ripstick. So, if you’re someone who values a lighter weight setup but you like to spend some time carving on groomers and you don’t want to compromise all the dampness and stability of a ski with metal, you’ve found your unicorn. At 96mm underfoot this ski is pretty darn versatile. It still rolls edge to edge fairly quickly but really excels in a little bit of fresh snow and changing snow conditions.
